    3. Please bear with the length; to ask my few questions I wish to present my research and conclusions reached. I have researched my Welshons line back up through my grt2 grandfather John Welshons [spellings vary] b. 8May1818; Mt Pleasant, Westmoreland,PA ? .d. abt. 18Apr1865; Quincy, Adams, IL with occupation of miller. He married Martha Traugh [spellings vary] 20Oct1844?; ,Westmoreland,PA. She being b. 20Oct1822; PA or WVA ? ; .d. 21Aug1901, Ursa, Adams,IL. See Item 1. The only Welshons reference I can find in the Westmoreland-Fayette county area that looks like a possible father to John & Isaac [if brothers] is one Jacob Welshons, also a miller. I have located Jacob Welshons in this areas Federal census 1810-1870; living in East Huntington, Bulllskin, Mount Pleasant throughout this period. See Item 2. With this known, Item 3 has general history references to one Jacob Welshons as miller in Bullskin,Fayette county in early 1800s as miller/distiller. Item 4; Bullship Township Property Rolls showing Jacob Welshons on rolls 1816-1850 as miller and resident of Bullskin, Fayette, PA; John Welshons on rolls 1841 & 1842, note he is listed as single before 1844 marriage; Isaac Welshons on rolls 1837 & 1849, possible brother These property rolls reflect Westmoreland & Fayette county land deeds involving Jacob Welshons throughout this period. I have abstracts of these land deeds upon request. Item 5 contains family information on Jacob Welshons family. Burial information on Jacob Welshons, wife Martha [Mattie, Magdelena] and other family members. Truxel Private Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township, Westmoreland, PA; north of Mt Pleasant proper, to the right on Route #981. ################## My research on John and Martha Welshons & children brick-wall at the 1850 census, below. I cannot find any material on John and Martha Welshons and/or children earlier an 1850. Although there is a John and Isaac Welshons working for a Jacob Welshons in Bullskin, I cannot assume they are related. Any information concerning John Welshons of East Huntington & Jacob Welshons of Bullskin would be most welcome. I am also facing a brick wall in attempting to trace ancestry of Jacob Welshons of Bullskin back in hope it may shed answers in my above questions. In the period from 1740s to 1810, I am looking into York,PA and Berkeley,WVA for possible Jacobs . I find I get lost with so many Jacobs. Is there any Welshon link to the Weltzhoffers of Codorus/Hellam,York? There is a Jacob Welshunts? listed in the Fairfield,Westmoreland 1812 tax roles as well as a Jacob Welchans listed in 1812 Fairfeld, Westmoreland land deeds. In 1812 Fairfield there are the Welshons that marry August Ambose four daughters. Is there be a Welshons blood relation here? Any information at all on the ancestry of John Welshons wife: Martha Traugh, Trough, Troff etc: would be most grateful, for I cannot find any. This is another brick wall added to this family. Any information/evidence/leads to the above brick walls or errors in my conclusions is most appreciative and welcome. I am most willing to share information. I have traced the John and Martha Welshons extensively. Thanks, Todd Gilman ################## Item 1. The 1850 federal census has John and Martha Welshons in East Huntington, Westmoreland. See ITEM 1a below. Also note, a possible brother Isaac with same spelling and occupation in same census and location. John and Martha remove to Quincy, Adams, IL in 1859. Before removing to Quincy, IL they have four more children in Westmoreland county area. All these childrens birth places are in PA but any further detail is ambiguous or unknown. 3. Also if you go to rootsweb and put Margaret Ritson in the search box there are a few family trees listed. They mistakenly have her married to Thomas Mull (unless he went by his middle name!). These entries say Margaret died in 1964 and Thomas (William) died in 1973 and that they were married 14 Oct 1909. The marriage date is correct. I checked the Westmoreland County e services. Record # 27837 says that William T. Mull and Margaret Ritson were issued a license on 10/8/1909 and were married on 10/14/1909. 3. Do you have a time frame for Nellie Kinnan? In 1930, William F. and Margaret D. Mull lived in Penn Twp., ED 134, p. 5B William F. Mull, head, rented, 15, age 43, first married at 23,did not have a radio, bornPA, Father born PA, Mother born Ireland, laborer Westmoreland Coal Co., not a veteran Margaret D., wife, age 38, first married at 17, born PA, parents born England Charles C., son, age 19, PA Hugh W., son, age 18, born PA Sarah E., dau., age 16, born PA James R., son, age 15, born PA John C., son, age 8, born PA Emma J., dau., age 6, born PA Ruth E., dau., age 5, born PA Thomas H., son, age 2 11/12, born PA Wallace E., son, age 1/12, born PA This same family lived in Penn Twp. in 1920. There are other Mulls in Penn in 1930 also- George W. (b. abt 1860) and wife Margaret M.(b. abt 1871). Also Frank and Elsie Mull and daughter Margaret. In the 1910 PA miracode there is a William F. Mull, age 16 living in Westmoreland County living with his grandparent T W Mull, but this age does not match with the one in the 1930 census. 1. Subject: Long help
    2. Dear "Cousin Ken", I don't know if this is any help to you with regard to your post below, but I have a marriage performed in 1864, by Rev. Hacke, which took place in Allegheny Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA. From what I have been told he was a Lutheran minister. Marybeth C. ========================================== << Date: Thu, 24 Mar 2005 07:09:54 -0600 From: "Barbara Lorensen" <lllorensen@socket.net> To: "Westmoreland county" <PAWESTMO-D@rootsweb.com>, Subject: Long help Good morning I'm hoping someone can help us on these Black's. My cousin mailed me this information that he knows.. If anyone can help please contact me at lllorensen@socket.net thanks Barb My great granfather's name was Hacke Long and his wife's name was Martha Hathaway. One of Martha's ancestors came on the same ship as William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania. The name of the ship was the "Friendship". Many of the passengers on the voyage died of disease (maybe smallpox) and were buried at sea. Only half arrived at Philadelphia. According to my uncle, John Larry Long, he said that family tales tell of coming from Germany to Belgium, then to England then America. It must have been in the late 1600's or early 1700's. Interestingly, there is a town in Belgium by the name of Hacke, my great grandfather's first name. I was also told that he may have been named after a circuit riding preacher who rode a mule to several early German churches in the Armstrong County and Westmoreland County area. His name was Rev. Hacke. Although I seem to have this much info., I really can't "connect the dots". One of my mother's relatives (maybe an aunt) was Effie Long from the Vandergrift area. I know that my parents spoke of being cousins by marriage. There are many Long's in the Vandergrift/Leechburg area, but I simply can't join any two together. Really frustrating to have this much to go on, but can't get to "first base". Like I said earlier, if I could get past my great grandfather, then I would be home free. I am also told that my great grandfather changed the name from Lang to Long, since he wanted to keep the German pronunciation of "Long", which is the way Lang is pronounced in Germany. When my Lang/Long ancestors left Germany, Germany was not a country yet, but many small states. I! believe that we came from the area of Munich, whatever principality that may have been at the time. Austria is within spitting distance of Munich (I have been there, it's beautiful) and they could have come from the Austrian Alps area. Today, that part of Germany is called Bavaria. 1. Death notices -- where are the MAC/MC names?
    2. Janet Warter
    3. Marilyn -- I think you have omitted those important Mac & Mc names from you M lists. I have been waiting to see them. Thanks for checking. We all appreciate that you have resumed these lists. I had the previous ones you posted, and found them of great value. Janet Warter
