Looking for parents of John Stewart. The STEWARTs were from the Webster area of Rostraver Twp. I think I have found John in the 1870 census in Rostraver Twp with John, age 38,miner; wife Hannah, age 30; Catherine, age 9; Anna, age 4. Apparently Hannah died before the 1880 census because John, age 48, farm laborer, and Kate are living with the John F. Thomas family in Rostraver Twp. Not sure where Anna was in 1880, but I know that she lived to adulthood. Hannah's maiden name was CALLIHAN, so am also interested in finding information on any CALLIHANs in Westmoreland County. I am searching for information about the following: Daniel COUGHENOUR (d. 1854) & Barbara JORDAN (d. 1877) -came from VA abt 1830; had farm in Rostraver Twp. A relative said that they were buried in the Salem Church cemetery, but I didn't find them listed in the Clossons' list of "Old Salem Church, Derry Township" and was wondering if there was another Salem Church in Westmoreland Co. John J. COUGHENOUR (1824-1909) and Catherine or Matilda AMALONG (1830-1899). If I have the right census records for them, they were in Washington Twp., Fayette Co. in 1850, West Brownsville, Washington, Co. in 1860, then Rostraver Twp. in 1870 & 1880. I have not been able to determine the parents of Catherine/Matilda AMALONG. George B. COUGHENOUR (1864-1933) & Mary Catherine STEWART (1861- 1930) are buried in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
