    1. McGuire Family Lineage
    2. tmcguire
    3. Hello, My name is Theresa McGuire and I am researching my family's ancestry. My children and I have very much enjoyed discovering the different family branches. We have found a dead end in Washington, Pa. and hope to find some help. Here is what I have found so far: My gggg-grandfather is from Washington, Pa Benjamin Franklin McGuire b:4-15-1848 moved to Ashland, Ohio - married Rachel Gladden b:11-2-1826 had a daughter Marie and two sons - Scott and Elsey McGuire (my ggg-grandfather) b: 1-16-1848 in Ashland, Ohio married a Margaret (no last name). I am missing a generation between here, I think, but next comes Daniel Clarence McGuire from the Iowa/Kansas/Denver, Co. (great-grandfather), married Bonnabel Faye Richardson and had Kenneth, Donald and Arthur Oron McGuire (grandfather). Arthur was born in Goodland, Kansas on 10-14-1917. Married Mary Elizabeth Faltinson in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Donald and Kenneth along with their father Daniel, settled in the Denver area. Would like to find parent names and siblings for Benjamin also any uncles, aunts, cousins, etc. Could you please help? Thanks so much, Theresa McGuire tamcguire@hotmail.com <BLOCKED::mailto:tamcguire@hotmail.com>

    3. I found a wealth of information in Rev. Ruff's books and well worth the cost of purchasing. I didn't know what church they attended -just knew they lived i n Westmoreland & that they were Lutherans. The books have an index but I found a few mistakes so it is best just to go page by page. I live in MI so libraries here do not have books Georgia Hileman Halloran ----- Original Message ----- From: <hummell@telerama.com> To: <PAWESTMO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2006 12:10 PM Subject: [PAWESTMO-L] Re: German Church Records > > Mechling Books also sells Pastor Ruff's books. > > http://www.mechlingbooks.com/bookstore.htm > > After 1820, the records are seperated by church, so you either have to > know the > church or you have gamble based on where the family lived. 2. Mechling Books also sells Pastor Ruff's books. http://www.mechlingbooks.com/bookstore.htm After 1820, the records are seperated by church, so you either have to know the church or you have gamble based on where the family lived. Most of these books can be found in large libraries like the Carnegie main branch in Pittsburgh. If you don't know the church, I would check with local libraries before buying. If you know the church, these books are wonderful. There are four volumes to these books. They are baptisms for the years 1772-1820. They are an excellent source. The Baltzer Meyer Historical Society sells these publications plus many more relating to Westmoreland County.
