Hi Cousin Ed, If you know what church the person who died prior to 1893 might have belonged to, you could contact that church for an official death record. I have had some success with the other side of my mother's family at the Lutheran Church in Honesdale. The only drawback with the Lutheran Church records is that they are in German for the early years. Unfortunately, the Lutheran Church records are not 100% complete, because they lost some records during floods in Honesdale. If you have an exact date of her death, I would be willing to look for the obituary in the newspapers archives at the Wayne County Historical Society.
