I had some relatives from the Damascus, PA area and I know they were Lutheran. Maybe you can help. Their names are August Leonard Hermanni b. 8/29/1831 and possibly from Germany and his wife Eleanora Pender b. 11/15/1837. They had 7 children and their names were August, Ferdinand, Caroline, Eleanore, Johanna, Louis, and Edwin. One of their daughters Eleanore married Karl Hartmann and he was from Damascus. Karl's parents were Jacob and Helen (Herzog) Hartmann. August and Eleanora went to NE to homestead around 1882. If you have any information on the Hermanni's that would be great. I can't get back any farther than August and Eleanore so far. Thank you for your help. Also could you please tell me if there is a town named Bath or is it Bath County in PA. The only PENDER in the 1850 Wayne census is Wm born 1830 in Ireland Texas Twp household 33 - which I believe is a boarding house. A good bet is that Elenaore arrived from Ireland after 1850. The only HERMAN family is Fred et al in Canaan Twp household 308 The HARTMAN clan seems to be in Oregon Twp household 13/14/15 but there is no Karl/Carl They had 7 children and their names were August, Ferdinand, > Caroline, Eleanore, Johanna, Louis, and Edwin.
