Dear Robert, I received this email from the list a while ago, but didn't have time to respond. I am related to the Comptons from Honesdale, and would like to know if there is a connection between the Honesdale Comptons, and the Hawley Comptons? My earliest ancestors that I have found are Dunning R. Compton, born August 12, 1818, and died October 18, 1895. He married Martha Dexter, born JAN. 17, 1822, and died Feb. 1, 1885.They had several children:C.E. Compton, born April 8, 1841; Martin Compton, May 7, 1844; Victrine Shelden Compton, May 1, 1846; Lucy born June 13, 1849; William Compton and Willis Compton, twins, born April 12, 1855, and Dunning W. Compton, born July 2, 1850. I am directly related to William Compton, he married Louisa Groner Compton. They had Leo Compton, born October 2, 1888. He was my grandfather . Do any of these sound familiar to you? Please let me know if you have any connections.
