Dear Carol et al., Well, I found Roscoe Tyler's obituary and it raises more questions than it answers unless someone recognizes his parents. The only Jefferson Tyler I could find on Ancestry.com for 1880 lived in Susquehanna Co. with a wife named Lovisa or Louisa. Anyway, here's the obit: The Wayne Independent, 22 Aug. 1978: ROSCOE TYLER Roscoe Tyler, 85, Equinunk, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 1978, at the Grover Hermann Division of the Community General Hospital, Callicoon, N. Mr. Tyler, a retired laborer, was a Veteran of World War I having served with the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion of Lookout. His wife, the former Lillian Brining, preceded him in death. Surviving are one brother, Verne Tyler, Equinunk; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Gertrude Stevenson, Bethal [sic], N. Y.; three nephews, Boyd, Frank and Leslie Tyler, Honesdale; two step-grandchildren, Bruce Stevenson, Bethal, N. Y.; and Douglas Stevenson, White Mills.
