    3. Regarding my earlier post on Delaware twp., on the Pike County Chamber of Commerce site, there is found: Delaware Township The oldest of Pike's Townships, was in existence before 1766 as part of Northhampton County. It was named because it bordered the Delaware River and originally extended west to Luzerne County line. So Delaware twp. (before 1766), Lackawaxen (1798), Palmyra (1798), Upper & Middle Smithfield, became part of Pike County when it was formed from Wayne in 1814. That means I should be searching for this William(s) Harris in PIKE County by the 1820 census. Or ANY Harris, for that matter. (Also, if early Delaware twp. once bordered Luzerne County line, I should be searching in Luzerne County records as well--which I have actually already done.) does anyone have access to 1820 Pike census records or index? thanks Holly
