Ann, If Depew had a sibling who married a sibling of Roscoe's, would that make Roscoe, Depew's brother-in-law? I do not have any siblings for Depew Teeple and I don't have any for Roscoe either. I will await the outcome of your search for an obit for this Roscoe. Hopefully, there will be one and it will shed some light on the situation, especially who his parents were. Carol
Carol, No. The only way he would be a brother-in-law is if he was the brother of Depew's wife or was married to Depew's sister. Since he was single, I made the assumption that he was Mabel Teeple's brother and indeed found a Mabel Tyler on the 1900 census. However (see my email of a couple of days ago), she was working as a servant with another family in 1900 and had not been born in 1880, so I couldn't place her with a family to test my theory. Of course, her death certificate or obituary would give good clues, but without a death date...
