Hi, I am searching for the parents of William H. Barhite. He was the second spouse of Roxey M. Conklin (widow of Benjamin Boults). He served in the Civil War. According to the 1880 Census he was born about 1825 in NY. 1900 Census for Damascus Township, Wayne County, PA says that he was born in Sep 1825 in NY. I have seen the surname spelled as Barhite, Borhite, Burhite, Barhight, and Burhyte. According to Census records William and Roxey had children, Debbie E., Phillip E., and Nicholas Conklin Barhite. The Indian Orchard Cemetery shows a burial for a Martin Barhite (1903-1960) and his wife, May (1922-). Does anyone know if they are connected to the above referenced family? If anyone has any info on these folks, I sure would appreciate their sharing. Thanks, Carol Potter Meadows
Can anyone explain in simple layman's terms what "Drinker's Beach" is/was exactly. Publication? Written by whom? Compiled by whom? Accuracy? Etc. I got some info from it that is being quoted over and over about my 3rd Great Grandmother, Rosanna Swartz Cobb Carey Swingle. Thanks, Lisa Carey L'Archevesque
