I am researching an Irish Catholic family who were in Honesdale from about 1862 until 1878. They had a couple of children in New York City from about 1856 until they came to Honesdale. What was the industry in that time frame in Honesdale? They were from County Donegal in Ireland. I need to write for church records from St. John's Catholic Church, how are they to deal with? Was that the only catholic church in the area at the time? Regards, Nancy
Hi - when I was growing up in Honesdale and environs, there was a Catholic School and Church almost at the end of Church St, near the old Loomis Plant and later Moore Forms. Has it and it's records disappeared? Clay Yale Nancy Lyons wrote: > > I am researching an Irish Catholic family who were in Honesdale from > about 1862 until 1878.
