HI, all. This is my first incursion into this list. My gr-gr-gandfather, Charles O'Neill, was born in Canada of Irish parents in c. 1838. He came to the USA in 1863, according to the census. He married Mary O'Neil, daughter of Bryan O'Neil, around 1868. My gr-grandmother, Martha O'Neill was born in 1869 in Pennsylvania. I have not found them in the Pennsylvania census in 1870, although they somehow must be there. In the 1880 census, they are in Fayette County PA , where Charles worked in the coal mines. I suspect that Charles may have come from Canada into Pennsylvania in the northeast, worked in the coal mines, got married, had a daughter, and moved to the coal fields of western Pennsylvania. But before finding the family in the 1880 census, I have no idea what happened before then. Does anyone in the list have these people in their trees? thank you, Tim Boyle
