Today I finally managed to read an old letter that my Aunt sent me. It contains info on Chauncy Thomas's planned marriage to Margaret Bross. I haven't seen the date of the marriage listed anywhere - so thought I would share it in case anyone else is looking for it. The letter is dated Damascus, Sept 17, 1842. It was written by Chauncy Thomas - mailed to Mr & Mrs John Hankins - addressed Dear Brother and Sister. The letter is an invitation to the wedding. Chauncey writes "I am to going to be married on the fifth of Oct next and would most respectfully solicit the favor of your company on the occaions at Mr William Bross's in Ridgeway, Orange Co. It is not necessary for me to say who my intended is, as I presume you have already been informed." Hope this information is useful to someone. Patty
