Patty, thank you for posting the Bross marriage. A great uncle of mine, Frederick Brucher (son of Christian Brucher and Franziska Utegg) married Flora M. Bross in 1917 in Tusten, Sullivan Co., New York. About 1917 Flora was a dressmaker. Her parents were William Bross and Mary Lassley. I've heard that Bross was an old family name in Sullivan Co. Could her father William be the same William you mention? or is it more like to be his father/uncle? Her father was born about 1825 in New York. I do not have a complete list of their children so it may well be Flora was their last child, being born in 1872. The Brucher family is my Wayne County link. They came from Groß Umstadt, Starkenburg, Hessen-Darmstadt (nka Germany). This family trades borders often - I find them in Wayne Co., PA, Sullivan and Orange Co., NY.
