RootsWeb.com Mailing Lists
Total: 2/2
    1. [PAWAYNE-L] ATTACHMENTS and VIRUSES
    2. Faye Kizer Robbins
    3. Just a reminder everyone. DO NOT OPEN an attachment with a message in the email saying: > Take a look to the attachment. This single statement is your clue to the virus enclosed in the attachment with that message. I don't like to post virus warnings or the such but it seems that our mailing lists are prime targets for this kind of thing as they get mailed to a LARGE group of people. And it seems that some people have decided to use that and the fact that if we're on these lists we have a heightened sense of curiosity. So PLEASE be careful what you open. I know most of you probably know this, but it is better safe than sorry. Thanks. Its warmer....happy haunting....oops I mean hunting........ <GRIN> The cemeteries have been beautiful to work in this week! More to come!! Faye

    3. Go to Microsoft 'critical updates' and download 'Security Update, the March 29, 2001 (Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack1) stops a virus from executing on your computer if you do open it, once a virus opens it can do anything on your computer that you can do. To see if you have Internet Explorer 5.5 Open Internet Explorer Click on the help (far right - top) The click on properties or about Microsoft or whatever item under help takes you to the information on your personal computer. It will say what Internet Explorer # you are using. If not 5.5, go to Microsoft and download 5.5 then download the items first mentioned.
