Mrs Jennie BRINK, lost in her effort to substantiate the will of Gustave BRADY, by which she was left BRADY"S entire estate which was valued at close to $25,000. The verdict of the jury in the case, which went out Saturday afternoon, was against Mrs BRINK and in the favor of BRADY'S signature to the will signed November 3, 1904 and was procured by trick, artifice and fraud. A little over a year ago his mother died. Joseph was but 25 years and a native of this area. He was a member of St Rose Church, Knights of Father Mathew Society, C.M.B.A. Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. He is survived by his father William J. Members of the VAN HORN family of Lackawanna Co met to received progress report in the fight for the estate of one of their ancestors who owned millions of dollars worth of real estate in New York City and who personal property there remains several hundred thousand dollars in trust. Lorenzo CARMELLO of Porter Ave, died at Emergency Hospital yesterday of injuries received at the Black Diamond Mine where he was crushed beneath a fall of rock. He was a native of Italy and had been in Carbondale for several years. Mr & Mrs Elmer E. JOALIN of Oneonta, former residents of this city, celebrated their 10th anniversary of their marriage on Monday evening this week. Dr James STEIN and Miss Sarah M. Former Coroner STEIN is one of the best known physicians in the city and his bride is the daughter of Mrs Sarah BEDFORD, 422 Mulberry St. They will reside on Taylor Ave. Mr Lawrence DUHIGG, formerly connected with the sales department of the Delaware and Hudson railroad Co, died last evening at the home of his parents, Mr & Mrs John H. DUHIGG of Remington Ave. He was but 23 years of age and had a wide circle of friends. Surviving are his parents, sisters Mary H., Elizabeth, Anna and brothers James L., George and John. The inquest into the deaths of five young women resulting from the fire in the Imperial Underwear Co, January 17th has been fixed for Monday by Coroner SALTRY. John COREY for more than 50 years a resident of this city, died yesterday at his home on North Blakely Street at the age of 79. He had been confined to his bed for most of the past year. He was born in Bristol, England in 1829 and came to this country in 1858 landing in New York on the 4th of July. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs Joseph HEAL of Dunmore, and three sisters, Mrs BRIDGEMAN, Mrs GOUGH and Mrs NICHOLS, residents of Bristol, England. His funeral will be Sunday from his late home. Her death was due to cancer of the stomach, she was 44 years of age and life long resident of Waymart. He used to be a resident of Wayne Co before moving here several years ago. He enlisted during the War of the Rebellion in the Fiftieth New York regiment of engineers and afterward became a member of the Ezra Griffin post, GAR. He was formerly employed by the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad Co where he met with a serious accident which incapacitated him for active work. Three daughters have been born to Mr & Mrs Albert FAGERLIN of North Everett Ave. The funeral of Mrs Mary MARTIN takes place this morning at the home of her daughter, 444 Willow St, services will be in St Mary's Church on River St and interment in the German Catholic Cemetery. She was one of the oldest residents this side of the Roaring Book having come here 50 years ago to what was then known as Slocum Hollow. Thomas LANGAN a young man of promise who career was cut short by death last Tuesday was laid to rest yesterday. The funeral was held at the family residence on Fig Street with high mass in St John's Church. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery. George WIRTH, former select councilman from the Nineteenth Ward, with his family is expected home today. They spent the past 8 months in a mild California climate for his health. However local physicians advised him to return home. Mr & Mrs John LANGAN of Buffalo were here yesterday to attend the funeral of Thomas LANGAN. A baby boy has arrived at the home of Mr & Mrs Herman MARTIN of 905 Pittston Ave. Mrs Windsor FOSTER, one of Peckville's well known pioneer residents passed away yesterday after a long painful illness. Mrs George A. ENGLERT died yesterday morning at her home on Dudley Street after an illness for the past year, six months of it she was confined in her bed. She belonged to the Lady Washington Lodge, Daughters of America. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters Mrs Samuel MC CRACKEN of West Pittston and Mrs Harry ADAMS of New York City. Her funeral will be held from the family residence on Monday. William ELMORE, 929 East Drinker Street, received a telegram yesterday informing him of the death of his son, Charles ELMORE, 23, at the Navy Hospital, Portsmouth, VA. He had just completed a three year enlistment as a trooper in the US Cavalry on March 1st and about to return home when he was taken ill and removed to the government hospital where he died on Thursday.
