I, Christine Brier, of Sterling Township, Wayne County and the State of Pennsylvania, being sick and weak of body, but of sound mind and memory and understanding (Praised be God for it) considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and to the end that I may be better prepared to leave this world whenever it shall please God to call me home, do therefore make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) First and principally I commend my soul into the hands of the Almighty God, my creator, and as to my worldly goods and possessions I will as follows: that all my just debts, as shall be by me owing at my death, together with my funeral expenses and all charges touching the proving of or otherwise concerning this my Will, shall in the first place out of my personal Estate and effects be fully paid and satisfied, and from and after payment thereof and subject thereunto, then my Will is, That I bequeath to my only child, Wilhelmina Deitz the whole of my property, both real and personal and all my rights and credits of whatsoever kind they may be, and I also appoint said daughter the Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. On witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 8th day of January AD 1866. A. Ehrhardt, the subscribing witnesses to the above will, and who being duly sworn according to law do say, that they were present and saw Christine Brier, the Testator, sign, seal, publish, pronounce, declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for her last Will and Testament, and that at the time of so doing, being of sound mind and memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief, witness my hand and official seal at the Registers Office in Honesdale this 7th day of December 1868.
