    2. Hi Gwen, Thanks for all the great information on the Kimbles. It sure seems like it is a possibility as there were many glassmakers in Wayne and Pike, PA - including my Olsommers and my great-great grandparents - John N. Walter and Catherine Olsommer Walter. I'll have to do some more research on this - could be interesting. My John N. Walter owned a glass factory in Kings Co., NY (Brooklyn) before going to Wayne Co. and I know that they were all associated with Dorflinger in Wayne Co. Dorflinger is from Rosteig, France and were witnesses on a lot of these families records. Anyway, will let you know what I find....and thanks again for answering. Janet Nichols

    3. There is no mention of a Kimble Glass Co. or of James or Levi Kimble in "The Glass Industry of Wayne County, Pennsylvania." Since this book is an exhaustive study of the subject, I'm confident that there is no connection. Aside from the very early Bethany Glass Co., the industry pretty much confined itself to the Honesdale-White Mills-Hawley area.
