This seems to be a case of "no good deed goes unpunished." being slightly older than dirt, having learned to do genealogy ( I started abt age 7 or 9) in the days when there were NO forms, no classes almost anywhere, hardly any census available, no indexes to speak of--few county records inprint--- it was an entirely different world. Not everyone knows where their ancestors, or their kin, landed, ended up. anything at all that may help is a definite "upper". anyone who has done genealogy for long knows it is lengthy, frustrating, worse than rocket science---at least those folks get a federal grant,/ funding--- high salaries, a diagram to follow. anything anyone wants to take time to share, put out there---if it helps one person---it is a success. Too many now a days want it all handed to them, on a platter, labeled and documented. I used to think folks in genealogy were the kindest, dearest, neatest--and usually "family"---out there. they still are, but we have been "infiltrated" --siiiiigh. I've had my work stolen, changed, ridiculed, sloughed off (seeing some don't want anything but what THEY envision for themselves) copied without credit, you name it,. and for all that, I still get the neatest finds, sharings, folks sending me things---you'd ever imagine. And I do so much gratis, because I can, know how, and the mystery is always there---who, how, where, and with whom!! I really try to share whatever I'm working on that may help someone. No one can do it alone. For all of you who work so hard on this list, or any list, in the areas of research--and try to get it up and out - Pay no attention to the nay sayers. You are worth your weight in gold. My sincere thanks, form down in NC--- Sheila // Firehair
