King was said to be born in Mt. Pleasant (Wayne Co.) I believe (there are several Mt. Pleasants) I have never been able to find his parents and siblings which has been really frustrating. I know everything about his adult life from about 1850 forward, but not his childhood. From what I know his father was born in PA and his mother in MA. I so badly want to get back farther. My Victor by the way was once superintendent of Winchester Firearms and he had a lifelong career in gun-making/inventing. When he came to Winchester he succeeded Nelson King who had been the superintendent. It is rumored they were brothers, but I can't prove this without knowing his parents. It is important because Nelson King was an extremely important figure in the history of Winchester. What is your connection? Thanks, Lynda, for the quick response. I wasn't aware of the KING line on mcquivey.org, but will look for it. My KING line begins with Clement KING of Marshfield, Mass, 1668. In Mount Pleasant, Wayne County, PA, Clement's descendants were Benjamin, and Benjamin's sons, Benjamin, Stephen and Charles. Stephen's daughter Pamelia married my gtgtgrandfather Nathan KENNEDY. Nathan's brother Robert married Elizabeth KING, but I haven't been able to determine whether she was related to the other KINGs above. Eunice KENNEDY, sister of Robert and Nathan, married the younger Benjamin KING. Both the Robert KENNEDY-Elizabeth KING and the Benjamin KING-Eunice KENNEDY unions have been searched extensively, so I'll look there for your Victor.
