    3. Trying to find any family for Isaac TURNER b 1788 Paris, FR came to US 1792 (re a news article by his daughter in 1937) d 1867 Wayne Co., PA. Isaac served in the War of 1812, enlisting in Westchester Co., NY. I have found an Isaac Turner in the census there, but from other info do not believe it is the same person. Cannot find Isaac's parentage or siblings. The family name was TOURNEUR - var. sp. Family lore says Isaac came from 'the middle West' and stopped in South Canaan and worked on Nancy Kelley's farm since she lived there alone. They married and had 8 children - Isaac was 34 years older than Nancy. Children were: Mathilda John Milton m Mahitable (Mattie) DEPEW Franklyn Varney m Carolena Augusta MEYER Mary Angeline; Rosilla Correll m ? HAUSER Elma Martha (twin) m Saul BIRD 2 other children died young 1850 census Salem Twp., Wayne Co. PA. shows John TURNER living next door to Isaac. John was born c 1810 NJ and among others, had a son named Milton. He also has 2 sets of twins. John must be a son of Isaac from a previous marriage. With all the children in this extended family, is anyone out there missing a grandpa??? Any help greatly appreciated - Diane * * * * * * ~ ~ ~ ~ Please check our Home Page ~ ~ ~ ~ * * * * * * http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/a/n/d/Sharon-D-Andreasen/

    3. Teddy, The records from 1893 through 1905 are on microfilm at the Wayne County Historical Society. They may also be at the courthouse. After that, from 1906, they are at the Pennsylvania Bureau of Vital Records at New Castle. Unfortunately, not all deaths were reported in those early years, but the ones that were are on the microfilm. I even tried all the Shelden/Sheldon families in 1870 that had a father born in England, which is what was indicated in the 1910 census as her father's birthplace. Absolutely nothing!! Oddly Clara Sheldon, Clarisse Sheldon, does not show up anywhere in 1870 she states she was b. in NY--no one there, not even close to the supposed yr. of her birth. Tried PA--and no families again statewide with someone in the right brackets. the ONLY Jefferson/ Jeff., J.C. C. Tyler to show in the eastern sector of the US is the one b. 4 Oct 1841 Dimmock, Susq. PA, who md. Louisa Carlin, she b. c 1845, and her family also from Susq. Co., PA Jefferson C. Tyler was the son of Sylvanus Tyler, his wife, Mary Quick. Jefferson and Louisa had 4 children, all of whom lived. #1. Morton S., the eldest son, b. c 1864 md Leona ?, they had, in 1910, Clarence, Ray O., Royal, Harry A., and Ralph. #2. Nancy, at home in 1880, gone by 1900--one can assume married. #3. Cyrus B. b. 1869. He md. Alpha M., moved to Carbon Co., they were md 6 yrs in 1910, had -0- children. #4. Alphretta was at home in 1910, still single. This eliminates this Jefferson Tyler, and his sons from the probable Dads unless he has a double life we know nothing about. <G> happens. Clara's 2nd husband, Frank Cole is in my data base as son of Peter and Rebecca of Honesdale. It seems he was married, lost wife and child(children?) in the 1890s. In 1930, Wilbur Tyler, age 42, is boarding with Will Branning in Wayne Co. 1930, Verne L., (33), (b. September 26, 1896- Bramen- died Jan 1981Equinunk, SSDI rec) md. Frances, (24) lived buckingham Twnp., Wayne Co., with daughter Beverly 1 yr old He was listed right after the Matthew Billings Family, whose f-in-law, Wallace Cole living with them, houses before that, cple of Lord families---all of whom are tied to my varying lines, by blood, marriage, or both.
