Well hello all! Im still lurking down here :) Hope all saw my offer to do look-ups in the Commemorative Biographical Record of Northeast Pennsylvania Including the counties of Susquehanna, Wayne, Pike, and Monroe... Also, for anyone researching the Joneses from around Lake Ariel, I have that line back to Plymouth, including several Mayflower passengers... Jackie
If you have, then the problems have spilled into AOL... Cause I am not getting any mail from this list either... Do you think they all decided to vacation and leave us at home?

Hi All, For those of you connected to the Rivenburg and Potter families a flyer has been posted on the Wayne County Genealoogy Web Page announcing a reunion in September 2004. Here is the link for the flyer: http://www.rootsweb.com/~pawayne/rivenburg.htm Carol Potter Meadows
Those individuals would not have worked at the glass factory referred to in the "Glass Factory Cemetery," since it had closed before they were born. They may have worked at Dorflinger or one of the other glass shops of a later era. I'll check the index to the Barbe glass book and let you know. I appreciate your looking. You know how strange family lore can be. My brickwall is that these three sisters seemed to have vanish off the face of the earth. The boys I can track, but the girls just disappeared. I have three distant cousins, all female, who according to family lore, may have worked at the Glass factory. It is a possibility that they married someone who may also have worked at the factory. My challenge is that I only have their maiden names, and no idea of any married names. I'd appreciate if you could check your records to see if any of the following names match anything in your database. Fannie/Fanny Elwine, born March 21, 1852, Petersroda, Germany Constanze, born June 22, 1854, Leipzig, Germany Fannie/Fanny Antonie, born August 18, 1858, Lindenau, Germany BTW, all the maiden names were Kreinberg. They were sisters. I appreciate any information. Thanks for looking. Grant Kreinberg

The glass book is upstairs and I'm running out now, but I know that it was the earliest factory in the county, in operation (and closed) well before Christian Dorflinger opened his factory in the 1860s. Of course, not everyone in the cemetery worked in the factory and there are still farms in the area. I'll look up the exact dates when I get home later in the day. As far as I know, my MARTWICK ancestors who are buried in Riverdale were farmers and never glass workers. They owned a farm that was a dairy farm when my grandmother grew up there in the late 1800s and early 1900. The early MARTWICKs, the immigrants came in 1860. Their friend, Adam ROSENER was also a farmer and he is buried there. When was the glass factory operating? Perhaps these are the later burials??? Hello, Does anyone on the list have a current email address for Sally Thorp Heath? The one that I have keeps returning my mail as undeliverable. Thanks, Carol Potter Meadows
The Glass Factory Cemetery is also where many of my ancestors are buried. Faatz and Olver to name a few Surnames. Years ago one of my 2nd cousins used to cut the grass, but I don't know if he is still doing it now. As far as I know there was never a church there, but it is sometimes known as the Glass Factory Cemetery, since many of the Germans worked in the very early factory that made window glass. I don't know who maintains it now. Hi Listers, Does anyone know anything about the Riverdale Cemetery and whether it was associated with a church at one time? My German immigrant ancestors are there. It is beautifully maintained and I am curious about how it is being maintained. There are fairly recent burials there. Janet Thomas
Ann, Thank you for the information. Gloria is mailing me her obit. so I will have a hard copy. I would like to find out where Marjorie's 'history' of the school at Hemlock Hollow (Lakeville) is kept, and how to obtain a copy to borrow or purchase. My grgr uncle, Charles Harris, was a school director there in about 1873 and after. And the Harris kids no doubt attended! Marjorie's father-in-law's brother, Leo Treat, married my 2nd cousin twice removed, Hazel Delaphine James. Hazel was dau. of George Lafayette James and Orpha Bartleson, and Orpha was dau. of Henry Bartleson and Zipporah Harris. Zipp. was my Wm. Harris, Jr.'s sister. (I think everyone is related to everyone else in a small area like Hemlock Hollow!) Holly
