    3. Carol, I think this summary covers the people you mentioned. I do have documentation for most of it, more descendants of David [3]. I hope the format isn't too basly jumbled when it reaches you. If you have questions or if I left someone out, let me know. Teddy THE KENNEDYS of MOUNT PLEASANT, WAYNE COUNTY, PA The earliest known ancestor of David KENNEDY3 in New England was William KENNEDY1 who bought land in Voluntown, Connecticut on April 14, 1724. William then made his home at Preston, Conn., where his will was probated Sept 23, 1727. In his will he mentions three sons, David2, Robert2 and Hugh2, and two daughters, Agnes Dixon and Jennet Love. Robert KENNEDY2 of Voluntown married Mary CADY, at Preston, CT, and later they moved to Norwich, CT. Town records list his children with Mary as Agnes, born 1728, Patience, 1730; John3, 1732; Benjamin3, 1734; and Mary, 1735. The mother, Mary CADY, died in 1735, On March 1 of 1738/39, Robert married Sarah MORGAN, daughter of John MORGAN and Ruth SHAPELY. Their children were: Ruth, 1743; Amie (or Anna) 1745; and David3, August 22, 1748 On November 21, 1771, David KENNEDY3 married Eunice LESTER at Groton, Conn. 3. Carol, From a quick reading, I believe that you have all those people listed correctly. However, the relationships are confusing, since the same names were passed down through the generations. I'll try to chart it out for you soon. What I want to find is a date for when Pamelia (King) KENNEDY died, and where she is buried. Do you have any clues? 3. Dennis, Those are all images on microfilm of the various federal censuses - a basic tool that will pay great dividends in your search. I have access to them online through paid sites, but they can also be rented for a very small fee from your nearest local LDS Family History Library (http://www.fammilysearch.org will help you locate them).. 3. Ann Sorry it took so long to get back to you, things have been pretty hectic around here. Elmers father was Francis Lightfoot Lee so the one listed as a son of Frank is more than likely the right one. His mother was Elizabeth Woolheater of Delaware county NY. I understand they were married some time in 1859. All these reels and pages you are talking about are somthing new to me. I am very new at this so please dont give up on me. King was said to be born in Mt. Pleasant (Wayne Co.) I believe (there are several Mt. Pleasants) I have never been able to find his parents and siblings which has been really frustrating. I know everything about his adult life from about 1850 forward, but not his childhood. From what I know his father was born in PA and his mother in MA. I so badly want to get back farther. My Victor by the way was once superintendent of Winchester Firearms and he had a lifelong career in gun-making/inventing. When he came to Winchester he succeeded Nelson King who had been the superintendent. It is rumored they were brothers, but I can't prove this without knowing his parents. It is important because Nelson King was an extremely important figure in the history of Winchester. What is your connection? I don't know if you received my other message but my whole KING line is on mcquivey.org if you want to view it. (Victor King married a McQuivey and thus the two lines are connected. ------=_NextPart_000_000C_01C4839A.F735FFD0 Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: attachment Reply-To: <PAWAYNE-L@rootsweb.com> From: "Theodora Cole" <teddy@gorge.net> To: <PAWAYNE-L@rootsweb.com> References: <JAELIOCMCEJFGHJOEPFDMEMOCLAA.lwade@twcny.rr.com> Subject: Re: [PAWAYNE] looking for DORIAN contact Date: Mon, 16 Aug 2004 11:44:47 -0400 Message-ID: <4120D66F.CC0D6BA3@gorge.net> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Priority: 3 (Normal) X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.8 [en]C-NSCPCD (Win98; U) X-MIMEOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1165 Importance: Normal X-Virus-Scanned: Symantec AntiVirus Scan Engine X-Mailing-List: <PAWAYNE-L@rootsweb.com> archive/latest/5214 X-Scanned-By: MIMEDefang 2.38 X-Original-Sender: teddy@gorge.net Mon Aug 16 09:38:37 2004 X-Loop: PAWAYNE-L@rootsweb.com X-Accept-Language: en Lynda, I don't know Nancy Dorian, or what her address might be, but I'm related to the Mount Pleasant KING family, and would like to know your connection. 3. Thanks, Lynda, for the quick response. I wasn't aware of the KING line on mcquivey.org, but will look for it. My KING line begins with Clement KING of Marshfield, Mass, 1668. In Mount Pleasant, Wayne County, PA, Clement's descendants were Benjamin, and Benjamin's sons, Benjamin, Stephen and Charles. Stephen's daughter Pamelia married my gtgtgrandfather Nathan KENNEDY. Nathan's brother Robert married Elizabeth KING, but I haven't been able to determine whether she was related to the other KINGs above. Eunice KENNEDY, sister of Robert and Nathan, married the younger Benjamin KING. Both the Robert KENNEDY-Elizabeth KING and the Benjamin KING-Eunice KENNEDY unions have been searched extensively, so I'll look there for your Victor. 3. Carl, I will definitely keep them in mind when I am in the cemeteries (only each July) and please keep Miner Cary, b. 1789 and Rosanna Swartz Cobb Cary Swingle, b. 1809 in your eyes. I have found 9 of Miner's 12 children in Wayne, Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties, but not him or his wife (actually she was Jacob Swingle's "wife" when she died - although Jacob died first and is with his first wife). I will keep my eyes open.
