    1. [PAWAYNE-L] New London Cemeteries
    2. A new listing has been added by Ancestry.com which includes a listing of cemetery inscriptions from New London, (CT) cemeteries. Since many early settlers of wayne Co came from New london, I thought readers might want to know that it is available, free of charge, for a period of time. For example, there are 36 "Stanton" entries. Website is: http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/inddbs/5564.htm You can go to Ancestry.com and work your way through their website or use your cut and paste feature to transfer the address. 1. Re: [PAWAYNE-L] Chauncey Thomas/Margaret Bross Marriage
    2. kg_davis
    3. Patty, thank you for posting the Bross marriage. A great uncle of mine, Frederick Brucher (son of Christian Brucher and Franziska Utegg) married Flora M. Bross in 1917 in Tusten, Sullivan Co., New York. About 1917 Flora was a dressmaker. Her parents were William Bross and Mary Lassley. I've heard that Bross was an old family name in Sullivan Co. Could her father William be the same William you mention? or is it more like to be his father/uncle? Her father was born about 1825 in New York. I do not have a complete list of their children so it may well be Flora was their last child, being born in 1872. The Brucher family is my Wayne County link. They came from Groß Umstadt, Starkenburg, Hessen-Darmstadt (nka Germany). This family trades borders often - I find them in Wayne Co., PA, Sullivan and Orange Co., NY. Thank you again for sharing, Happy Easter. 2. Patty Hankins
    3. Today I finally managed to read an old letter that my Aunt sent me. It contains info on Chauncy Thomas's planned marriage to Margaret Bross. I haven't seen the date of the marriage listed anywhere - so thought I would share it in case anyone else is looking for it. The letter is dated Damascus, Sept 17, 1842. It was written by Chauncy Thomas - mailed to Mr & Mrs John Hankins - addressed Dear Brother and Sister. The letter is an invitation to the wedding. Chauncey writes "I am to going to be married on the fifth of Oct next and would most respectfully solicit the favor of your company on the occaions at Mr William Bross's in Ridgeway, Orange Co. It is not necessary for me to say who my intended is, as I presume you have already been informed." Hope this information is useful to someone. Patty

    3. Fred, I am EXTREMELY interested in Honesdale, that's where my people settled from Germany. Sue* ----- Original Message ----- Hello all The 1850 census data for Lathrop township, Susquehanna Co has been added to the data on the site listed at the end of this message. Perhaps someone can help me link the LORD families of Lathrop with those I have records for from Pike County. :-) I managed to find a few birth years for the TEWKSBURY family members on my database. Again perhaps someone can add to the links for the new family members. While I prefer to post complete township transcriptions, I also seem to be completing the smaller townships. Honesdale has almost 4000 in the census record. Is there a consensus on whether it would be appropriate to post that borough in 3 ro 4 "pieces". Happy searching. Fred -- _-_|\ Frederick W.
