    3. Yep! That's the one! Sorry, I just separate the areas into two "countries" We have the one country; up Moscow way... including Mt Cobb, Honesdale, Gouldsboro, etc. The area where I'm from. They're all over to the one side. Then there is the "other" country up near Clark's Summit, Dalton, Factoryville, Clifford, Carbondale, etc. they're off the other way. and then Carbondale can run into the Honesdale area. Then we have "down town" where is where I live right now. That includes the towns not in the mountains..... like Scranton, Taylor, Dickson City, etc. I don't know; its probably just my bunch..... We always seem to know where we're talking about <GRIN> Faye (I never said I was normal)

    2. My big Native list put to work on the prayers. Most onthislist are not aware, but, my 3 "triplets" are adopted. legally, under the Indian chld Welfare Act. (ICWA). they were all abandoned. My apache was a 6 1/2 mo preemie, 4 lbs,not expected to live. the other two are siblings. they are all graduating onschedule the end of this month. Ben was hearing impaired-lousy pediatrician---but, 3 surgeries, etc., and he is within normal range of hearing. he is LD/dylslexic. A jock, MVP, popular, very social--my activist. matt had Post Traumatic stress with abandonemnt issues. He has an I.Q. in the 140 range, --has developed into a tease. He's lettered 4 yrs in 3 sports. Sarah--elegant, self contained--a talented dancer--holds 2 small titles---and is adored by the family she works for--caring for their 3 children. all 3 are college bound. Accepted and getting ready. Sarah is going to one of the finest Women's colleges in the east. we have been "on our own" for 12 years, the man who signed for their adoption, to be their Dad, and was married to me--took a walk in 1988-- quit supporting us, hasn't seen them in years. Everyone says what great/nice/sweet/well mannered/responsible--etc. kids. In spite of prejudice--they "look" Indian-- and all the "can'ts, shouldn'ts, and so forth. Your daughter has a special place in our hearts. bless her for taking "one of our own". quite frankly, I have little time for folks who spend thousands of dollars overseas, in preference to taking our own children. or the Rosie O'donnells who spend a fortune getting Ivory soap babies---while those who deserve babies---wait so long they age out. another soap box,a nother day. 2. [Unable to display image] My daughter is adopting the little girl. After a long 3 year battle they say the papers are finally in the last judge's hands. She is a family member. Please pray and get all you can to pray this will finally be settled. At 5 weeks she was taken from the mother. She was left on the floor with no milk, a dog running around and a 7 year old brother watching her. She was born addicted to drugs. The parents have 5 children between them. All have been taken away or the parents just do not see them. The 8 year old boy does not remember ever going to see Santa. Can you tell by the look on his face? And the yellow socks, I forget the story about what happened. Thanks... All of the children are doing good. Thank God

    1. [PAWAYNE-L] New census data has been posted
    2. Frederick Myers
    3. Greetings all After a bit of a quiet spell I have managed to add some new transcriptions to the web site (address at bottom of message) Pike - 1850 Dingman Township Susquehanna - A partial addition to Gibson township in 1880 now 800+ entries 200 households but not finished Wayne - As a gift to a friend who has been a wholehearted supporter of my efforts - Starrucca Borough in 1910 I note the latter actually contains quite a few surnames that have come up on these lists in the past - including one household with all the following surnames -- Tewksbury, Tarbox and Woodmansee. And if someone could correct my mis-transcribing of the capital E's and C's which look the same I would appreciate it <Start Plug> If you find your ancestors in the census data please consider letting me have the data on a couple of generations of those ancestors to permit cross-referencing the census data to "real" people. Your contribution is acknowledged and can help make Northeastern Pennsylvania the most easily researched family history area on the web <Stop plug> I intend to finish the 1880 data for Gibson township. I do have relatives in that census data. What I transcribe NEXT will depend in part on the response I get from you - the reading audience. There already has been a strong interest in the 1850 data for Honesdale/Wayne Co. The lack of a good copy of the 1850 Clifford/Susquehanna has also frustrated many reasearchers. I have the 1880 Clifford data. If you have a preference between 1850 Honesdale and 1880 Clifford, please let me know... on list or privately. Enjoy. Fred -- _-_|\ Frederick W. 1. [PAWAYNE-L] Catholic Church Records Hawley
    2. Hi, I just joined the list and am researching the HAM(HAMM) family. I found them in the 1880 census for the village of Hawley. My g grandmother MARY ELLEN HAM was supposedly born in Hawley in about 1872. Her birthday was April 13th but I am not positive of the year. I believe she lied about her age. I would love to find her baptismal record. Does anyone know which Catholic Churches were closest to Hawley back then? Does anyone have a phone number? Mary Ellen was the daughter of WILLIAM HAM and ELLEN JAMES. She had a sister ELIZABETH and brothers, WILLIAM, ROBERT, THOMAS AND JAMES. Is there anyone else researching this family. Thanks for any assistance anyone can give me. Carol Buffalo, New York

    3. Just a reminder everyone. DO NOT OPEN an attachment with a message in the email saying: > Take a look to the attachment. This single statement is your clue to the virus enclosed in the attachment with that message. I don't like to post virus warnings or the such but it seems that our mailing lists are prime targets for this kind of thing as they get mailed to a LARGE group of people. And it seems that some people have decided to use that and the fact that if we're on these lists we have a heightened sense of curiosity. So PLEASE be careful what you open.
