Hi everyone, I am working on the PEET,KINTNER, KISH, HARRISON families. Thanks Lily Give a dream gift Hand painted gifts & ect... http://www.alittledream.cc
When someone calls for a rollcall, it is just a means to have everyone on the list post the names that they are working on. There is a chance for you to spot someone else working on the same families as yourself. Valentines day has nothing to do with it, except that our list host calls for one anually at Valentines Day... Other list may or may not have a list host that does that on any particular day. Iris

Garry, Below is the original message that I posted to the Wayne County Mailing List and your response. I am curious...was it your parents or your grandparents that were killed at the same time in a plane crash? Also there used to be a writer for Highlights who used to visit with a family named Roos in Honesdale. At the time that he visited, I used to babysit for the Roos children. That would be circa 1960-1962. I think that his first name was Jerry, but I can't for the life of me remember his last name. Iris, I've never seen the name in Wayne County, but it's always possible. What census did she find it on and what is the first name? I know of at least one Dix genealogy on the shelf at WCHS, and there are several Dix descendants (probably some on this list) who have some interest in their family history. Hi Ann - Happy New Year. I remember a "Dix" family as I was growing up. Seems like I associate them with Honesdale or one of the surrounding people clusters. Dorthea keeps coming to mind. Possibly someone my mother or my grandmother knew from education circles? Take care CLay Ann O'Hara wrote: > > Iris, > > I've never seen the name in Wayne County, but it's always possible. Hi , I know I should know this but can can you explain what a roll call is and what valentines day has to do with it? Should I be sending my names in again ? I have subscribed for awhile and have not heard about roll calls yet thanks
HI, There was a Darling family that lived in Berlin Township, Wayne County, PA when my Mom went to school. She will be 85 this year so if that puts you in the the correct time frame you might check Berlin Township census records. Dolores
Seeking any early info on grx2grandparents, Mary Elizabeth WEBSTER, born PA 1846. She married Valentine ERBACH, b. Prussia 1838. They were married in Honesdale "by a Moravian clergyman", according to his Civil War pension application, on April 28, 1861 and lived most of their married life in the Scranton area. Would esp. like to know her parents, and any siblings. Thank you! Shirley in Ohio, but from NJ
Ann, Is the name being said Dix, just from the census? Her last name is actually Dir, and following leads from her great grandmother, we found these in Wayne Co., and I can see from the census that one could see either Dir or Dix. Dix would be the one that most people would see, as it is more common. Is there anything else besides the census that would clarify whether that family is Dir or Dix? Such as Dix family researcher? Thanks again, Iris
Carol, What Boyd and what Patterson? Were they in NY? Hi Garry, I noticed your name....are you connected to the family that owned the Highlights for Children that had offices in Honesdale, PA at one time? In answer to your email, I will take anything I can get that might help me get past some of my brick walls. Please send it as a GEDCOM file. That way I can open it and look at it in my Generations program. Thanks, Carol Potter Meadows
