She came to McDonald from France eleven years ago. Besides the husband two sons survive. Interment was made in the Hilldale cemetery Monday afternoon. Dr. W. V. RIDDILE, aged 78 years, one of the best known physicians of Washington county, died at his home at Burgettstown at 11:50 o'clock Sunday morning, March 25, 1917, after a week's illness of pneumonia. Dr. RIDDILE was born in Smith township and was the son of Samuel and Margaret SCOTT RIDDILE. He studied medicine at the University of Michigan, graduating in 1864. For eight years he practiced at Noblestown, Candor, and Pittsburgh. For the last forty-five years he had practiced at Burgettstown. In spite of his age he kept up his work until he was taken ill. He was one of the oldest active physicians in the county and was at one time president of the Washington County Medical Society. He took a keen interest in religious and education affairs of the town. For forty years he had been an elder in the Presbyterian Church, most of that time in the First Presbyterian Church of Burgettstown. He served several terms on the Burgettstown school board. Dr. RIDDILE was twice married. His first wife was Miss Rosa PATTERSON, daughter of Finley PATTERSON of Cross Creek township. His second wife was Miss Emma BINGHAM, daughter of Charles BINGHAM, who survives with one son and one daughter, F. C. RIDDILE of Oakmont and Mrs. E. B. PRY of Ingram. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the First Presbyterian Church at Burgettstown, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. W. M. HAYS, D. D.
