FRANK MURRAY MANKEY, SR. Left this world September 21, 2007, at age of 97. He was the third of eight children growing up in Washington, PA.. After his father died, Frank age 15 set aside his plans for college and worked to make sure his mother and siblings were cared for. In 1937 he married his life partner Mary Ella Brownlee moved the young family to Royal Oak, Michigan. As his family grew Frank welcomed each of his own children. While Frank loved being a father, he adored being a grandfather. He always had time for go seek, and telling them stories. Retiring to Arizona in 1971, Frank was unable to sit back and relax, once again taking on many different ventures, including working as a security guard, making jewelry, and panning for gold. Frank retained his curiosity and incredible sense of adventure throughout out his 97 years. We, his family feel thankful and blessed to have had him with us as long as we did. We could not have asked for a better example of love and loyalty and we will always be grateful for the many gifts he has given us chiefly among them the importance of family. Frank will be welcomed into heaven by his loving wife Mary Ella, his infant son Charles, 4 siblings, and a son in law. He is survived by his brother Kenneth Mankey , sisters: Martha Cooper and Mary Anderson. His children: Frank Mankey ll, Francis Cox, Carmille Clark, Elaine White, David Mankey & their spouses, 17 grandchildren and 15 Great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Green Acres Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Road in Scottsdale, AZ. on September 27th at 12:00pm.
