Carl Hird Dorsey b. Jan. 10, 1899 d. June 7, 1975 married Alva Irene Sprowls Feb. 17, 1921 According to a tree I located (author Gretchen E.), she has mother of Carl was Lydia Myrtle Dorsey b. 1876 Marshall Co.,WV. Does anyone know who the father of Carl was and the mothers maiden name? I had a hard time locating Carl in the census records. The I found his WW I registration and it lists his mother as Lydia (middle name lookes like Mary tho) EALY. And he worked as (farm?) salesman for George I. Ealy. Lydia Myrtle Dorsey married George Inglis Ealy. George died in 1918 (according to online info). 1920 census, Carl is listed as Carl EALY with mother Lydia M. and sister Ella M. That is all I can locate in the census records - I have emailed a cousin who is a cousin to this line of Sprowls, but not sure when I will get response. Any help greatly appreciated. I have obits for some of the children of Carl and Alva, but non for either of the parents. Thanks so much, Ruth Sprowls
