Ruth got me on a quest tonight to find some of my Wallers. As an addition to my first long post, I found this: Siblings, children of Judd and Martha McClelland Waller were: Miss Annie M. Waller born 1851 (different than Anna Mary Stathers Waller) Mrs. Nannie Waller Crouch* Richmond, married to Thomas Richmond, [I found them in the census -- born 1869] Thomas Waller [different than Thomas McClelland Waller] Mrs. Mary Waller Clemons - I know nothing on her Mrs. Elizabeth Waller Johnson - I know nothing on her one Thomas, listed as single, lived 1870 in Thomas and Nannie Richmond's home- listed as bro-in-lw.... Annie M., listed as single, same- listed as sister-in-law *"NANNIE C. RICHMOND - *Mrs. Nannie C. Richmond, 91, of 284 North Franklin street, died at 3 a. m., Monday, Dec. 12, 1960, in Washington Hospital. She was born in Maple Creek, Sept. 7, 1869, a daughter of Judd and Martha McClelland Waller. ......<snipped> I still don't know why she had the Crouch name... 1st marriage? or named at birth Nannie Crouch Waller? == Sooooo here is my Tuesday challenge, open to anyone willing to take on this possibly impossible endeavor (LOL): WHERE is Judd and Martha McClelland Waller in the US Census---for ANY year??? ANY state ANY county. I tried to look in the entire SW PA area. I don't know if Judd was the guy's real name? Maybe it was his middle name?? (maybe like Thomas Judd---we got tons on Thomases in this family.) Martha McClelland Waller had a child in 1851-- Annie M. Waller . So Martha b. ca. 1818 to 1831 depending on whether Annie was the first child or not. Nannie Waller Crouch Richmond was a cousin of Flora Wynona Waller Lane, who was Ruth Lane McGary's mother (Ruth was my grma). We have not perfectly figured out just how Nannie was a cousin though [since we cannot seem to fit Judd Waller into any known family of Wallers] I cannot find anyone who fits. Maybe my cough-sneeze-headache-fever has made me blind-LOL Can you find Judd and Martha McClelland Waller and their kids? Judy -with the additional info you provided I just located the obit for wife of A.B. Waller. The Charleroi Mail page 1 February 16, 1910 Wednesday WELL KNOWN LOVER WOMAN DIES AT HOME Mrs. A. B. WALLER Succombs after illness of several weeks. Mrs. Sarah WALLER, aged 55 years, wife of A.B. Waller, died at her home near Lover yesterday morning at 9:40 o'clock after an illness of several weeks' duration. Mrs. WALLER'S maiden name was THOMPSON, she being a daughter of the late Leonard THOMPSON. She was born near Coal Centre and had resided in this vicinity her entire life. She was a member of the Maple Creek Christian church. Beside the husband one daughter, Miss Bertie, survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12 o'clock. Looking at the 1850 census, Andrew WALLER (Sr.) age 39 and family as you listed - next door is William WALLER, b. Delaware age 66 and his family - includes James age 27 - looking at these 2 families, there are 3 old enough for fatherhood William age 28 (living with Andrew Sr., must be brother) George age 24 (living w/Andrew Sr., must be bro.) James age 27, living with 66 yr. old William Waller. MY ASSUMPTION for "spouse" of Martha McClelland are one of these 3 (William, George, James). "IF" they married? Hi Judy - I have found nothing on a Judd Waller in Washington Co. I even did a google search for Judd and also for Judson Waller. There was a Judson Waller, but not in Wash. Co. NOW- 1860 census for South Strabane Twp. has the following: MCCLELLAND, Thomas age 40 " " Martha age 35 " " William age 72 WALLER , Mary age 39 " " " Martha age 9 You have Annie M. Waller as born in 1851 - possibly this Martha WALLER is Annie M. 1870 census for S.
