DOWNEY, PURDY, FAYALLE, CAGNON Merriman T. DOWNEY, aged 56 years, died at 8:30 o'clock Monday morning, January 20, 1913, of heart trouble at his home in North avenue, Just beyond the borough limits. He had been seriously ill for two weeks. Mr. DOWNEY was born near Bloomington, Indiana. He came to Washington County thirty-five years ago, settling at Midway. Five years later he was united in marriage with Miss Anna TAYLOR of Midway. About twenty-six years ago Mr. DOWNEY and his family moved to the home just on the edge of McDonald where he has since been engaged in farming. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church here. Besides his wife, Mr. DOWNEY leaves three children, John Frances, and Anna May, all at home. Three brothers and one sister also survive. John E. DOWNEY of near Hickory, David DOWNEY of Kansas, S. P. DOWNEY of Ohio, and Miss Jane LEPAGE of Ohio. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home, conducted by the Rev. J. P. JORDAN, the Rev. W. D. IRONS, D. D., assisting. Interment was made in the Center cemetery at Midway. Mrs. Hugh PURDY, aged 53 years, died Saturday morning, January 18, at 9:30 o'clock at her home in Fanny street after an illness of several years. Her condition had been critical for some time and on Friday she suffered a stroke of paralysis. Her mother, Mrs. Mary E. CRUMMY, survives besides the husband. She also leaves two brothers and three sisters: James CRUMMY of Dravosburg, John CRUMMY of this place, Mrs. J. T. SCOTT of near Hickory and Mrs. Henry GARDNER and Miss Lulu CRUMMY, both of this place. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the First Presbyterian Church, of which she was a charter member. Interment in Robinson's Run cemetery. Mrs. FAYALLE, for many years a resident of McDonald, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Felix HELIER, at Donora. Eliza, wife of Edward CAGNON, died at her home at North Braddock, Sunday evening at 9:10 o'clock of pneumonia, aged 27. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jennie KELLY. She was married to Edward CAGNON about eleven years ago. She is survived by her husband and two sons, William aged 10, and Robert, aged 7, also by her mother, Mrs. Jennie KELLY, two sisters, Cassie and Mable at home, and one brother, Thomas KELLY of Pittsburgh. Funeral services were conducted at the home on North Braddock on Monday evening at 7:45 by the Rev. Mr. RUSSELL of the Lutheran Church of that place and the body was brought to the KELLY home on Tuesday where funeral services were conducted by the Rev. E. V. SHOTWELL of the M. E. Church. Interment at Center.
