    2. Marianna, June 27.- John William Bane, 69, died at 8:30 o’clock tonight in his home at Sandy Plaines, after a lingering illness. A son of Jermyn and Amelia Elliott Bane, he was born May 5, 1871, in Deemston Borough. All his life was spent in the Sandy Plains District. For 31 years he was employed by the Greensboro Gas Company, most of the time as field foreman. He retired in 1932. He was a member of the Clarksville Presbyterian Church, and at the time of his death he was a trustee and church treasurer. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Morton Bane; six children, Mrs. Harry Taylor, of Clarksville; Mrs. A. O. Neel, of Rices Landing; Mrs. Scott Hartley, of Fayette County; Mrs. Merle Rohrer, of Clarksville; Mrs. James McNeil, of California, and Mrs. Carl Brown, at home; one brother, Harry J. Bane, of Clairton and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 o’clock in charge of his pastor, the Rev. Paul Sappie. Burial will be in the Beallsville Cemetery.
