    3. Dear List Members: My ancestor, William Hammond, is found on the 1800 and 1810 censuses in first Smith Township and then Mt. Pleasant Township in Washington County. I have the book, Abstracts of Washington County Pennsylvania Willbooks 1-5 (1776-1841) and he witnessed a will for James Miller in May of 1818. He is not in the Census of 1820. Are there tax records for this early time period? Are there cemetery records for Mount Pleasant Township? Any suggestions for further research would be appreciated. Edna

    3. Edna, I have the index to Wash. Co. wills from 1781 - 1900 and William Hammond is not listed. Hope this helps. Ruth
