Author: DDay89 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.washington/1457.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Here is a link to the Pennsylvania archives Revolutionary War Military Abstract card file. Your Amos Walton is there. He was given bounty lands for service during the war (yes he was considered a Rev War participant.) The card underneath his bounty certificate lists his company and battalion. In the lower right hand corner of the card you will see A(6), II, 120. This is the series, volume and page number of the Pennsylvania Archives that his service is listed. If you got to footnote.com at http://www.footnote.com/ and chose "browse all titles", then Revolution: 1775-1815,then Pennsylvania Archives (free), then your series, volume and page number, you'll find his information. Make sure you look at other pages before and after page 120 as he may be in there again or you may find out more about his company and battalion and other people that served with him. You can use this as proof of his service if you are trying to get into DAR or SAR. You might want to get a copy! of the documents pertaining to the bounty land he was given as well. That could be interesting. Good luck Deb Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
