He was sentenced to pay the costs, fine of $1 and to undergo a maximum sentence of four years and a minimum sentence of one year in the Western penitentiary. A joy ride taken in an automobile by three well known young men of McDonald on July 24 has resulted in their prosecution. Tuesday one of the trio, William STILLEY, went before the court and entered a plea of guilty to the charge growing out of the ride. The other defendants are Stewart MORONEY and Victor MCLANE, who fled and have not been arrested. Young STILLEY was permitted to go upon probation, upon his application to the court to be paroled and his agreement to abide by the trust imposed upon him for one year. Burgess WILES of McDonald is appointed his probation officer and to Mr. WILES the defendant will be responsible for his conduct. STILLEY is 17 years old, a young man of no bad habits, and at present is a student at Duff's college, Pittsburg. He with the other two took the automobile of C. M. WADE, of McDonald, drove it out in the country, and after damaging the machine, left it by the roadside three miles from town. The court warned STILLEY against getting into trouble again telling hi this experience should be a lesson to him. STILLEY paid the costs and the damage that was done to the machine.
