    1. [PAWASHIN] Cyrus FERGUSON returns Oct. 31, 1913 McDonald PA Record
    2. Victoria Hospodar Valentine
    3. Cyrus FERGUSON, the well-known successful oil operator, has purchased the club house of the Harkaway Hunt in West Lincoln avenue, which was his former home here. The Harkaway Hunt has disbanded. The house, which changed hands for $9,000, is a fine large residence, and cost a good deal more to build fifteen years ago. Charles R. BUCHHEIT built, and later sold it to Cyrus FERGUSON. About ten years ago Mr. FERGUSON moved to Hollidays Cove, W. Va. The Harkaway Hunt first rented and later bought this house, which was admirably adapted for their purpose. Mr. FERGUSON's rise is familiar to nearly all readers of the Record. He was reared near Eldersville and came to McDonald as a butcher. He succeeded in getting one of the first liquor licenses of McDonald and subsequently made much money in oil speculation. About ten years ago he, with others, took up about a thousand acres of land on the Ohio river, which afterward proved to be very rich in oil. He is one of the wealthiest men, if not the wealthiest, of the West Virginia Panhandle.
