He was born July 19, 1826 on ancestral acres in Hancock co (was Brooke Co VA at the time of his birth) He married Rebecca Graham April 26, 1859, daughter of Thomas Graham Jr. & Honor Davis. Thomas & Rebecca had 5 children, 1.)Lucinda P. Ralston b. 1860- died May 6, 1944 married James Work buried at the Chestnut cemetery also. 2.)William Siles or Scott Ralston b. 1861-died 1939 married Rachel Stephenson buried Chestnut Ridge cem. 3.)George Graham Ralston 1864- 1937 married Ida Mae __? buried at Chestnut Ridge cem. 4.) Ann Katharine Kate Ralston b. 1866 died Feb 18, 1942 married Samuel Fred Campbell buried Three Springs cem Weirton, 5.)Jesse Mary b. 1868 died 1950 buried at Chestnut Ridge cem. Thomas Holmes Ralston was a miller, working at the family mill on Kings Creek, he took over the mill when his brother William died. Thomas was the son of *Joseph & Lucinda Purcella Holmes, who also had sons Eli, Isaac, Mary Ann or Nancy Ann (wife of J.H. Harper)Joseph b. 1823- d. 1846)Caroline wife of Miller Shane or Shane Miller, & William who died 1861 a school teacher. The Father Joseph is mentioned in Beer's History of Washington co PA says he was a soldier of the war of 1812, & died after a trip to Buffalo NY with a cargo of flour to market, he was taken sick with Belious Fever & returned home died July 18, 1846 followed by wife Dec 26th of the same year. (Three Springs cem list says died 1845, will says 1846) Their son Joseph b. 1823 - died 1846, from the fever after taking a cargo load of flour to market at New Orleans -His will is listed in Washinton c Pa in 1846. He was married to a Esther Jane WILSON, dau of John & Esther Jane Wilson of Perry Co OH - who later moved to Van Buren Iowa with her parents, she had 2 children William Wilson Ralston & Mary Elizabeth Ralston. The father Joseph's parents were Joseph & Ann McCready, Joseph husband of Ann, father was also named Joseph who settled on Kings Creek by 1783 from land records in Brooke co. Va. This was a huge family of Ralstons & I love learning more about them all. Joseph who married Ann, had a brother named Samuel who married Martha Tucker, dau of John Tucker of Hanover twp, Washington co PA, donated land for the Tucker Meth Church & cemetery. Samuel & Martha had 4 sons *Joseph, Samuel, John & Andrew & 8 daughters - I believe is my line thur son Samuel b. 1801- d. 1881 buried at the Three Springs cem, with wife Elizabeth McConnell.
