John Bush (1819-1886; most likely Henry's bro) was a coal miner, living with his wife Emaline and their family in West Pike Run township in 1850 with the following children: Joseph (ca 1840); Martha (ca 1841); Benjamin (ca 1845); Joshua or Josiah (ca 1847); and Margaret (Elizabeth... ca.1850). Ten years later, they were living in Carroll T., near Monongahela. Bejamin was not listed. Children born since the 1850 census included William, Pamelia, Noah, and Edward. A big family. In the 1850 census, Elizabeth was listed as Margaret, but the birth dates are the same. By 1880, the family had grown even larger to include Mary M. (ca. 1871), Joseph (cca. 1873), Hettie F. (ca. 1876), and Frederick (1879). This makes me think that Frederick B. of Greene County was Henry and John Bush's father, and possibly, their mother was an Irish woman named Margaret (1797). I found Margaret Bush (born Ireland 1797), with her children Margaret and Thomas H (both born 1832 in PA), living in New York City, in a ward with many foreign borns, especially Irish. If her late husband was landless, she may have returned to be near family and friends, living in the city, with her youngest children. I cannot find Henry (or close to it) Bush anywhere else in the USA in 1850 but here. See the repetition of family names? Speaking of Margaret, In my first post, did I note that Henry and Elizabeth's only daughter was named Margaret (1854)? I'll keep this in mind, and if I find something, I will let you know.
