The POPICH family of Cecil held a surprise 50the wedding anniversary party for Mr. and Mrs. Michael ZAHORSCAK of Canonsburg, at the annual family reunion July 16 at Cecil Park. Mrs. ZAHORSCAK is the former Kathryn POPICH of Cecil, where she spent most of her life before being married to Michael ZAHORSCAK and moving to Canonsburg. Mr. ZAHORSCAK worked at Duquesne Slag before retiring and they then moved to Glencoe, Ala., to be near their only son, Robert ZAHORSCAK, and family. Mr. and Mrs. ZAHORSCAK have one granddaughter and three grandsons, all residing in Alabama. Members of the POPICH family who attended the reunion were Mr. and Mrs. Steve POPICH and family, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew POPICH and family, Mr. and Mrs. Steve BOYAN and family, Mrs. Helen MAUSER, and Mr. and Mrs. George LEVKULICH and family. A buffet meal was served and the honor couple received a number of gifts.
