She was born March 14, 1929, in Washington, a daughter of Bernard F. and Marietta Arthurs Brehl. Mrs. Finley was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Claysville, where she had previously served in several capacities, including deacon and elder. She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, Washington, was a homemaker and had previously worked at Mellon Bank and the Borden Corporation. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and formerly the McGuffey Band Boosters. Mrs. Finley enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with the Retired Teachers Association, and reading. On April 6, 1953, at Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, she married Ray L. Finley, who died January 31, 1993. Surviving are three sons, John F. Finley, of West Alexander; Ray Edward Finley, of Albuquerque, NM; and James A. Finley, of Washington; a daughter, Laura L. Shawley, of Largo, FL; three brothers, Frank Brehl, of South Bend, IN; Larry Brehl, of Pittsburgh; and Bill Brehl, of Afton, MN; two sisters, Catherine Yancosek, of Pittsburgh; and Margie Brehl, of Minnetonka, MN; eight grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Richard and John Brehl, and a sister, Elizabeth Brehl. Friends will be received Sunday, February 17, from 7-9 PM and Monday, February 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, in the Michael H. Heinrich Funeral Home, 219 Main Street, Claysville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 19, at 11:00 AM, in the United Presbyterian Church, Wayne Street, Claysville, with Rev. Merle Timko officiating. Interment will be in Claysville Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
