Beckinger --- Steve J. Beckinger, 87 [death cert lists born 1882], of San Luis Obispo, Calif., formerly of Butler, died Friday afternoon. Mr. Beckinger moved from here to California about 1938. Surviving are two sons, Elmer M. Beckinger of Butler and Steven J. Beckinger of Sacramento, Calif., seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Richardson Mortuary in San Luis Obispo. OBIT: Date/Page: 8 Oct 1937 p12 THE BUTLER EAGLE Mrs. Barbara M. Beckinger --- Mrs. Barbara M. Beckinger, aged 56, of 208 North Monroe street, died last evening at 6:15 o'clock in St. Vincent's Hill hospital on Babcock boulevard, Allegheny county, after a lintering illness. She was the wife of Stephen J. Beckinger and had been a resident of Butler for 12 years. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Elmer of Hannahstown and Stephen, Jr., at home; four brothers George, Charles, John and Albert Nehf, all of Pittsburgh; four sisters Mrs. Margaret Dempsey, Miss Eleanora Nehf and Miss Elsa Nehf, of Pittsburgh, and Ann Burgine of Arkansas. The body was removed to the H.J. Geibel home for funerals. Funeral arrangements will be anounced later. & OBIT: Date/Page: 9 Oct 1937 p9 THE BUTLER EAGLE Beckinger Funeral --- Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara M. Beckinger aged 56, wife of Stephen J. Beckinger of 208 North Monroe street, whose death occured Thursday night at St. Vincent's Hill hospital, Babcock boulevard, Allegheny county, after a long illness, will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon from the harvey J. Geibel Home for Funerals, 201 East Cunningham street. The Rev. Ralph W. McKenaie, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, will be in charge. Burial will be made in Hannahstowne Cemetery. Stephen & Barbara Beckinger also of Allegheny CO, PA. Interested in all Beckinger/Beckengers of this area of PA including Allegheny, Butler, Washington and Westmoreland COs. NOTE: Stephen Beckinger (Sr.) listed in this obit was the brother of William Beckinger (died 1945 Westmoreland CO PA) and Henry Beckinger. All three boys listed in the 1880 Allegheny County Home (perhaps orphans). From what I can tell all PA Beckinger/Beckengers are connected to this group. All leads appreciated.
