Open house will be held in celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Monte L. SCOTT of Shady avenue, Burgettstown. Hosted by the couple's children, the affair is scheduled for Saturday, May 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the Westminster U. P. Church, Burgettstown. Friends, relatives, and neighbors are invited to attend. The SCOTTs have been residents of Burgettstown for many years and are well known in the community. The former Lois THOMASSY, daughter of the late Olive and George THOMASSY of Burgettstown, and Monte SCOTT, son of the late Oma and Charles SCOTT of Warren, were married May 26, 1933, by the Rev. Mr. DOUDS in the manse of the Presbyterian Church, Ripley, N. Y. They were owners of the Tastee Freez in Burgettstown until 1968. Mr. SCOTT is also a former coal hauler and Mrs. SCOTT is a former substitute school teacher. Both are graduates of Edinboro State Teachers College and are members of the Westminster U. P. Church, Burgettstown, where Mr. SCOTT is an elder. The couple are the parents of two children, Philip SCOT of Sanford, Miss., and Judy, the wife of Robert KUZIOR of Bulger. They have six grandchildren, Kim and Kevin KUZIOR, and Philip II, Cheri, Rick, and Craig SCOTT. The couple requests that no gifts be presented in their honor.
