    3. YOURD, BRISCOE, YANEK, HOLLAND, ROBERTSON, ADAMSON William P. YOURD, 64, of Weirton, W. Va., a former resident of McDonald, died Sunday, August 21, 1983, in his home. A son of James KICKSON and Bella VANCE YOURD, he was born June 15, 1919, in Imperial Mr. YOURD retired six years ago as sales manager of structural products, Weirton Steel Corp. He was a member of Weirton Lodge, F. & A. M., and Colliers, W. Va., Sportsmen's Club. He was an officer in the U. S. Army during World War II and served in the Pacific Theater. He is survived by his wife, Helen WOLMAR YOURD; two sons, James D. YOURD of Deerfield, Ill., and Thomas W. YOURD of Weirton; a sister, Jean, the wife of William BURNS, of McDonald; a brother, Dickson V. YOURD of Roswell, N. M., and two grandsons. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Follansbee, W. Va., with burial in the Weirton cemetery. Mike HUCIK, Jr., 77, of Burgettstown, died Friday, August 19, 1983, in his home. He was born February 8, 1906, in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. HUCIK was a retired coal miner and a retired steel working having been employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Burgettstown, and of the Slovak Society Lodge No. 720. Surviving are his wife, Mary ZAJONC HUCIK; a son, Mike Richard HUCIK of Raccoon; two brothers, John HUCIK of Cross Creek, and Martin HUCIK of Atlasburg; two sisters, Mary ZAJONC of Atlasburg and Veronica MOYER of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, and two great-grandsons. Two brothers and a sister are deceased. Mass of Christian burial was held Monday morning in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Burgettstown, in charge of the Rev. Edward J. TRZECIAKOWSKI. Burial was in the church cemetery. Daniel S. BRISCOE, 72, of Hickory, died Tuesday, August 15, 1983, in the Washington Hospital Extended Care Facility. A son of William and Effie BRISCOE, he was born August 24, 1910, in Philadelphia. He retired in 1965 from Martin Marietta Corp., Orlando, Fla., and has resided in Hickory the past six years. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle BRISCOE; a daughter, Peggy BILLIE of Houston; two grandchildren, and a sister, Grace WHITE of Philadelphia. Funeral services and burial were private. Joseph M. (Hap) YANEK, 69, of R. D. 3, Burgettstown, died Friday, August 19, 1983, in the Washington hospital. A son of Michael and Anna PLAZA YANEK, he was born September 10, 1913, in Cherry Valley. Mr. YANEK was a lifelong resident of Smith Township and was a member of St. Ann's R. C. Church, Bulger. He was a retired employee of the Climas (sic) Molybdenum Co. Surviving are his wife, Ann MIKULA YANEK; a son, Michael YANEK of R. D. 3, Burgettstown; three daughters, Joanne KRUPA of Pittsburgh, and Marianne CARTER and Michelle YANEK, at home; a brother, Charles YANEK of Joffre; two sisters, Ann PAGASKY of Joffre and Veronica LUKAN of Midway; and three grand-children. A daughter, Carol Lee YANEK, is deceased. Mass of Christian burial was held Monday afternoon in St. Ann's R. C. Church, Bulger, in charge of the Rev. Thomas O'NEIL. Burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes cemetery. Bendy M. HOLLAND, Sr., 68, of Washington, formerly of Midway, died Tuesday, August 16, 1983, in his home. A son of the late Monoah (sic) and Cora NICE HOLLAND, he was born October 12, 1914, in Midway. Mr. HOLLAND was a former coal miner and was employed as a carpenter for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He last worked as a member of the road crew for Chartiers Township, retiring in 1973 due to disability. Mr. HOLLAND was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Living Waters Church of God, Washington, and the Taylorstown American Legion. On October 10, 1981, he married Sarah CAMPBELL HOLLAND, who survives, along with two sons, Larry HOLLAND of Phoenix, Ariz., and Bendy J. HOLLAND of Taylorstown, two daughters, Phyllis GROMO of Pittsburgh and Cora ROSSMAN of Oakdale; two step-sons, William WIGNER and Leonard WIGNER, of Washington; six step-daughters, Marie WEISHNER, Cheryl SAGER, and Bonnie HAUPT, all of Washington, Sarah TERPIN of Eighty Four, Louise CULLEN of Canonsburg, and Donna RUSH of Prosperity; a brother, John HOLLAND of Canonsburg; two sisters, Zelma SHUPE of Pittsburgh and Ora BERNARD of Houston; 45 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A brother, Joseph HOLLAND, and sister, Esther SALOME, are deceased. Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon in the Living Waters Church of God, Washington, in charge of the Rev. Charles E. HALLIFIELD. Burial was in Forest Lawn Gardens. James D. ROBERTSON, 98, of R. D. 1, Bulger, died Friday, August 19, 1983, in the Canonsburg hospital. A son of William and Addie ROBERTSON, he was born October 19, 1884, in Hammondsville, Ohio. Mr. ROBERTSN was a retired mining superintendent and a former employee of the Burgettstown School District. He was a member of the Hillcrest U. P. Church and the Burgettstown Senior Citizens. On September 18, 1912, he married Hallie CHAPPELL, who died March 29, 1971. Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Daisie) JELOVICH of Burgettstown; a granddaughter, Terry Jean MARCOTT of Bethel Park; two grandsons, Carl JELOVICH of Stamford, Conn., and Kerry JELOVICH of South Fayette; a sister, Pearl DAGG of Evans City; and seven great-grandchildren. A son, James W. ROBERTSON, died in 1924. Five sisters and two brothers are also deceased. Funeral services were held Monday morning in Burgettstown in charge of the Rev. Clarajean HAURY. Burial was in Fairview cemetery. John A. ADAMSON, 65, of Langeloth, died Saturday, August 20, 1983, in the Weirton, W. Va. Medical Center. A son of John and Elizabeth MCFARLAND ADAMSON, he was born September 1, 1917, in Burgettstown. He had resided in the Burgettstown area all his life. Mr. ADAMSON was a retired employee of Climax Molybdenum Co. and was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Alta DIAMOND ADAMSON; a son, John ADAMSON of Dillingham, Alaska; two daughters, Sheryl PURYEAR of Burgettstown and Sandra KOKOSKIE of Clinton; a brother, William ADAMSON of Burgettstown; a sister, Ethel ZOMBECK of McDonald; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A daughter, Sonia CAIN, a granddaughter, Tammy CAIN, and a sister, Margaret MURPHY, are deceased. A blessing service was held Wednesday morning in Burgettstown. Burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes cemetery.
