The body of a Bulger area man, who had been missing overnight, was found in a small pond near the Bavington Dam, Robinson Township, the afternoon of May 19. Robert John GLASS, 56, of R. D. 1, Bulger, was found drowned in the pond about 3:30 p.m. by his brothers, Howard and Paul GLASS, who had been searching for him after he did not return home Wednesday, according to County Coroner Farrell JACKSON. GLASS lived with is mother near the dam and frequently walked through he woods to swim alone in the small pond. Because his brothers were aware of his habit, they began searching for him and found him floating in the pond about 10 feet from shore, JACKSON said. He was pronounced dead at 5:40 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Robert LITTLE. A son of Lula JAMISON GLASS and the late Robert John GLASS he was born April 29, 1927, in R. D. 1, Bulger. He was a member of the Robinson U. P. Church. Besides his mother, he leaves two sisters, Roberta Jane ROCHER of McDonald and Margaret ALTMAN of R. D. 1, Bulger; and three brothers, Wallace GLASS of McDonald, and Paul S. GLASS, and Howard M. GLASS of R. D. 1, Bulger. Funeral services were held last Saturday morning in the Thomas and Little funeral home, McDonald. Burial was in Robinson U. P. Church cemetery.
