FLEMING, RITCHIE, GILSON, LINDEN, MEYER, SHIMON, MACBURNEY, PRATA Mrs. Ellen P. FLEMING, 82, wife of George FLEMING of Oakdale R. D., died Monday, August 29, 1983. She was born May 5, 1901. Besides her husband she leaves a daughter, Ellen TURBAN; three sons, Charles, George, and Hugh FLEMING; a sister, Iona WALKER; two brothers, Donald and Frank BROWN; nine grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning in the Thomas and Little funeral home, Oakdale, in charge of the Rev. Emily A. BYRD. Burial was in Allegheny Memorial Park. Theodore J. RITCHIE of Oakdale, died Wednesday, August 24, 1983. He is survived by his wife, Lois RITCHIE; three son, Theodore, John, and Thomas RITCHIE; three daughters, Mary Ann SKEPANSKI, Rita WOOTEN, and Lori RITCHIE; a stepson, Jeffrey ROBERTS; a sister, Blanche HAYWISER; two brothers, James and William RITCHIE; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services were held last Saturday in the Somma funeral home, Robinson Township. Mrs. Mary GILSON, 78, of Burgettstown, died Saturday, August 27, 1983, in the Allegheny General hospital, Pittsburgh, where she was taken after she was struck by a truck while crossing a street. She was born October 8, 1904, in Smith Township and had resided all her life in the Burgettstown area. She was a member of the Burgettstown Senior Citizens. Surviving are two daughters, Mary FOLTZ of Midway and Evon FLURKY of Tucson, Ariz.; three sons, Elmer GILSON of Langeloth, James GILSON of Burgettstown, and Victor GILSON of Woodland Hills, Calif.; a sister, Frances SPEAR of Easton; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Her husband, Victor, died in 1947. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in Burgettstown, in charge of the Rev. John ADAMS. Burial was in Grandview cemetery. Mrs. Ruby F. MCLAUGHLIN LINDEN, 72, wife of Peter J. LINDEN of Weirton, W. Va., died Monday, August 15, 1983, in the Weirton Medical Center. A daughter of the late Charlie and Carrie SIMMONS WAKEFIELD, she was born May 26, 1911, in Pembrooke, Ky. She was a member of the Cove U. P. Church, and the Weirton Woman's Club, and had retired from Weirton Steel Division in 1976 as a cook in the dining room. Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Mrs. R. (Lynne) REYNOLDS of Pembrooke Pines, Fla., Mrs. George (Carole) ROLLAGE of New Cumberland, W. Va., and Mrs. Larry (Joan) TREMETIERE of Pittsburgh; two sons, John Neil MCLAUGHLIN, Jr., of Glenshaw and David LINDEN of Wheeling, W. Va.; four sisters, Mrs. Lula JOHNSON of New Cumberland, W. Va., Mrs. Louise JENKINS of Compton, Calif., and Mrs. Hilda PATRICK and Mrs. John (Helen) MCKENNA of Weirton; 15 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Neil MCLAUGHLIN and three brothers. Funeral services were held August 18 in Weirton, in charge of the Rev. Terry STOOPS. Burial was in Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Helen G. MEYER, 93, of Washington, mother of Dr. Malcolm G. MEYER of Washington, former McDonald optometrist, died Friday, August 26, 1983. She was born December 17, 1889, in Connellsville. She was the widow of former area optometrist, Dr. Edwin T. MEYER. Besides her son, she leaves three grandchildren, Marsha SEGALL, Marilyn ROBBOY, and five great-grandchildren, Evonne and Michelle SEGALL, Erin ROBBOY, and David and Michael BARISH. A son, Edgar J. MEYER, is deceased. Private interment was in Homewood cemetery, Pittsburgh. Jules SHIMON, 69, of R. D. 3, Burgettstown, formerly of Midway, died Thursday, August 25, 1983, in the Mercy hospital. A son of Jules and Julia OROSZ SHIMON, he was born December 3, 1913, in Cherry Valley. He was a retired steelworker and a member of the United Steelworkers of America. Surviving are two daughters, JoAnn, the wife of Robert OWINGS of R. D. 1, Burgettstown and Sandra, the wife of Russell LYNCH of R. D. 3, Burgettstown; a son, John Gerald SHIMON of R. D. 1, Bulger; nine grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. His wife, Ann HALYAK SHIMON, died November 15, 1981. A sister, Yolanda KOWALO, is deceased. A blessing service was held Monday morning in the Coleman funeral home, Cecil. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery, Cecil. Mrs. Mary MACBURNEY, 83, of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Hickory, died Wednesday, August 24, 1983, in the Boulegard Temple United Methodist Home, Detroit. A daughter of William and Annie PATTERSON CARLISLE, she was born January 21, 1900, in Hickory. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Ruth) NEILL of Franklin, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Jane BORLAND of Houston, and a grandson. Her husband, Kenneth MACBURNEY, died in 1968. Funeral services were held last Friday morning in Houston in charge of the Rec. James A. ADAIR, pastor of the First U. P. Church, Houston. Burial was in Mt. Prospect cemetery, Hickory. William PRATA, 85, of Bulger, died Thursday, August 25, 1983, in the Washington County Health Center. A son of the late Alphonse and Maria PRATA, he was born April 14, 1898, in Loyalhanna. He was a retired master mechanic for Pittsburgh Coal Co. Surviving are a daughter, Leona AYRES of Bulger; a son, William PRATA of Bulger; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. His wife, Yvonne PRATA, died in 1971. One grandchild is deceased. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in the Thomas and Little funeral home, Midway, in charge of the Rev. James CRANSTON, pastor of the Center U. P. Church, Midway. Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery.
