    3. Some people may not believe in how our deceased family "help" us know about other living family, but I thought I'd share this story.... (By the way, don't think I'm crazy--lol) As some background... My grandmother died in 2000; my grandfather died in 1983 or '84. They did have a son--but he died when a baby. I don't remember an exact date (late Dec? early Jan?.... I had the following dream.... I'd gone to my grandma's house, but her "son" had taken all her belongings and would not let grandma in... I told him to move--and I unlocked the front door. Grandma was walking up the green porch (just as I remembered her before, in her spring coat and dress). As we entered the rooms, that "son" /grown man just kind of disappeared somewhere...my focus was on grandma. We walked to the kitchen and she was giving me genealogy stuff to take ... a certificate of the Dague family [note: I've never been able to prove the connection]. Then she handed me a picture frame with 3 photos --each of very 3 young teens/women...I said "Who's that? (young woman, right photo). Grandma (old woman with wrinkles) said (eyes twinkling) "That's ME!" (She was very beautiful when young). "Who's this (center photo)"? "That's Sarah" (and I knew she meant Sarah Lutes). "Who's that?(pointing to the left photo) "That's ___ (she said a name, but I didn't catch it...) Grandma continued: "You HAVE to find ___ " (I didn't hear or understand what she said, and I wanted to know so bad !) "WHO is it?" I asked again....... "You HAVE to find (words unclear).... missing (words unclear).... .... you remember I told you (words unclear).... ......... Right then (in real life ), my doorbell rang ---- and woke me up! I told my visitor I wished she'd been 10 minutes late so I could have finished my dream! Dang! I have "dead people" (family) dreams a lot. And usually it means someone in our family is ill, is dying, or has died. So with this dream, I worried about 2 older close family (females) ... I called one older cousin but her son said she was ok. I forgot about the dream. Today I called my older cousin back... and told her the dream (my grandma is her aunt). And... she says... WHEN did you dream that??? Well......my cousin and I think my dream was about Vernon Hayden and how he was (then) "missing." Now some more family background ... Charlotte Lutes died during childbirth, leaving Sarah Lutes, James Lutes, and Laura Lutes. My great grandma Flora Wynona Waller Lane (mother of the grandma I dream about), took Charlotte's kids and raised them as her own. So my grandma lived with her bro. Roy, sis Vesta... and Sarah, Laura and James Lutes. The 3 Lutes were like "little" siblings to my grandma. Laura married (I think Vernon) Hayden. He had a son (also called) Vernon (Vernon W.--the one who was killed.) Grandma talked to me ALL the time about the Lutes (Greene Co) and the Hayden families. So back to my dream... the last photo would have been Laura Lutes Hayden! I kind of suspect (now) that the "son/ grown man" was my mind's way of saying Laura's grandson (might be a stretch, but it fits). I never knew/saw him so my dream was trying to give some relationship for this man. And Grandma was telling me to find (someone) because the grandson had murdered his granddad (Vernon) and hid the body... then the grson "disappeared." I tell this story because I do believe our deceased family members stay connected to us. I only wish the "communication" they make was clearer than strange dreams that don't make immediate sense! I look forward to dreaming again of my grandma or sister--- but I do hope it won't be about another death. (And, I hope no one thinks I'm nuts -- LOL) If you're related to Hayden, I don't have a lot on them. I have more about the Lutes - Lane side. Thanks to everyone who pointed me to articles. I should have Googled, but I didn't realize that the story was so big that even the Associated Press wrote about it. Such a sad story.
