Mary Jane Ratcliffe was the daughter of Irene Ellen Martin and Dr William Ratcliffe . Irene "Ellen" Martin, was the daughter of William Jefferson Martin, born about 1825 PA and Irene Plants, born 1/9/1935. William, from what I found was the son of a James Martin and William had a sister Sarah. Midge Ryan Valley Independent (Monessen, PA) 8-25-1987 Mary Jane Douglas of Charleroi Rd, PA, died Monday, Aug 24, 1987, in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Carroll Twp, PA. Mrs Douglas was 90. She was born March 26, 1897 in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Dr William Ratcliffe, the first registered veterinary surgeon in Greene Co, PA and and Ellen Irene Martin Ratcliffe. Her husband, Clyde H Douglas died in 1965. Mrs Douglas was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monongahela and the Adelphia Class of the church. She was also a member of the Monongahela Chapter, Order of Eastern Star No. 108, and a past worth high priestess of Mononhahela Valley White Shrine No. 9. She was a member of the Mother's Club of Monongahela, Monongahela Chapter of the AARP and the Mon-Vale Hospital Auxilliary. She is survived by a son Lloyd Douglas of Charleroi and a daughter, Mrs Albert (Dorothy) Dunkerton of Monongahela RD 2, PA; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a niece and a nephew. Two sons, Clyde Bill and Jack P Douglas and a sister Carrie Thompson are deceased.
