The Daily Independent, Monessen, PA; Thursday, June 11, 1908 “NICK” TREATED RIGHT BY ‘BOYS’ LAST NIGHT Upon His Return Home With Bride Henry MELL Was Given a Strong Welcoming Henry “Nick” Mell, the genial foreman at the Monessen plant of the Independent Steel and Wire company was “It” among the boys last evening. He became a benedict yesterday and an “automobile” ride and reception were features of the plans prepared by his many friends by way of celebration. Mr. MELL and Miss Julia LINNAGEL, of Manown street, were married yesterday morning in Pittsburg. They returned home on an afternoon train. In the evening the “boys” captured “nick” and placing him in the improvised “horseless carriage” that has seen service on similar occasions gave him a ride through the streets. “Nick” was well treated and under the careful and competent direction of I. SERGE, the general manager of MEYER’s pharmacy. The group’s fellow boarders at the Commercial hotel furnished the rank and file.
