On the 9th of July following, the companion and sharer of his joys and sorrows departed this life, leaving him almost disconsolate and altogether unlike himself of former years. Henceforth, this world was but a barren waste in his melancholy heart, and he earnestly longed to go "Home". He was a member of the Associate Presbyterian Church. A hunble and unpretending deciple of Christ, Bleoved and respected by all who knew him for his many virtues that brightened his whole career and left a mark of sincere affection for him on many a heart. Charity and Benevolence were his crowning virtues. "Faith' and 'Hope' of a blessed mortality accompanied him during his protracted sufferings and guided his footsteps within the "Gates of Heaven". He died without a struggle.
