Co.. was a native of County Tyrone where that unusual name is found in 1700s - Hans' son Hance was naturalized in 11826 as a native of Ireland. Hans Mitchell Sr. died in 1814- will probated 1814. wife (Margaret) is already deceased. Sons are James(Eldest) Alexander, Hance, William, John, Samuiel and daughter Margaret (b. ca. 1798) married Jesse St.Clair, son of James and Jemima(Enlow) St.Clair. Witnesses includes William Mitchell. Who else is researching these Mitchells? Is William a brother? Are there other Mitchells from County Tyrone? Hans and his wife Margaret appear to have arrived ca. 1795 as he is not on 1790 census, at least one son b. in Ireland - daughter Margaret in Wash. Co. The Hans Mitchell family were weavers apparently in Co. Tyrone as well as in Wash. Co. Jim St.Clair
